The 21st China International Down and Feather Exposition and 2015 JD Down and Feather Exposition was hold successfully from December 4th to 7th, 2015 in Xiaoshan District, Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province. 50 manufacture & sale enterprises joined this great gathering with thousands of down and feather products such as garments, beddings and accessories. During 4 days promotion, the total retail sale was 4.5 million RMB. And the exposition was highly recognized by both of industry insiders and customers.
JD Customer Experience Area
By the end of 7th December, according to data from JD Mall, the on line sales volume of down and feather garments increased 20%, and the sales amount increased 40%; meanwhile for bedding products, sales volume increased 40% and 50% in sales amount compared with the same period last year. The JD Customer Experience Area was set in the exposition for the first time, attracted 11 garment brands and 16 bedding brands from JD Mall to participate in. What’s more, the customers were given the chance to fit in real products before online purchase; If customers decided to buy the product after experience, they could scan the QR codes on the product‘s tag and make orders directly through their phones.
China has possessed 70% of feather and down products in the world. The chain of manufactures has been improving to use high technique equipment, increasing productivities and the quality of products in style of designing. The online sale has perfectly fit in modern consumer trends in worldwide and challenged traditional entity sales to some degree. CFDIA has already been paying close attentions to those changes on the sales of feather and down products, and done many researches on online marketing sales to help whole industry’s business going well on right directions as well as help consumers to buy the good quality products.
Three down and feather industry cluster areas were given honorary names during this exposition: Wuwei County, Anhui Province was given the name “Feather and Down Town of China”, Guzhen Town, Yu’an District, Lu’an City was given the name “Well-known Feather and Down Town of China” and Shanyang Town, Baoying County was given the name “Well-known Feather and Down Town of China”.

Introduce New version of “Feather and Down Products Credit Guarantee Label”
The “Feather and Down Products Credit Guarantee Label” was redesigned and updated to a new version to let consumers easily scan QR codes that connect to CFDIA with consumers’ feedback.
The “Feather and Down Products Credit Guarantee Label” which shows three important facts to consumers: 1. Theproduct is made by high quality down and feather raw material 2. The product has met relevant national and industrial standards; 3. Customer can enjoy good after-sales service.
China Down Industry E-Commerce Market Development Forum
On 4th December, China Down Industry E-Commerce Market Development Forum, which attracted more than 140 representatives to attend, was held successfully in Jinma Hotel. During this forum, representatives from JD Mall introduced the development history and current operation status of JD home textiles category as well as the quality control regulation of JD; Web market managers from famous brands shared their sales method and operation skills; representatives also discuss the management method and product quality problem existed in current online market. After the forum, all representatives reached the goal that CFDIA and JD Mall should work together to promote genuine licensed and good quality product on online market.
Revise National Standards of GB/T 176858 “Feather and Down Products Standard and GB/T 10288 “Feather and Down Method Standard”

In order to promotethe quality of domestic feather and down products, and catch up with international standard level, China Feather and Down Industrial Association (CFDIA), has devoted to revise the GB/T 176858 “Feather and Down Products Standard and GB/T 10288 “Feather and Down Method Standard” since last September, 2014.
On 5th December, after fully discuss and revise, the final draft for examination of up-mentioned two standards eventually got approval by standard revise working group.
This standard revision work was the milestone achievement for China down industry. It has been considered to lay solid foundation for the unification of China down standard. Meanwhile standard revision would play significant role in promoting domestic down product development in the near future.
The Web Marketing Down Products Testing News
In November 2015, during Double 11 Shopping Festive, CFDIA purchased 60 down and feather products (including 40 garments and 20 quilts) from T-mall and Taobao as an ordinary consumer and sent them for testing.
All the products were tested by national level laboratory - Down and Feather Testing Laboratory of Zhejiang Entry-exit Inspection and Quarantine Bureau. The results showed that 55% testing down garments met quality standards both of filling material and production; whereas only 5% down quilt was qualified. On 8th December, CFDIA held the press conference and released the testing result. The purpose to release testing results was to enhance and guarantee the quality of web sale down products as well as protect both industry and consumer’s interest. Consumers should be alert when they buy low price but hot sale online products. And web marketing enterprises should keep their integrity, improve products quality at the same time create safe and satisfied online shopping environment for customers.
